Visual & Dimensional Inspection

The most common method of inspection, visual inspection, is omnipresent in all types of examinations. During inspections, our inspectors ensure that welds are free of defects in accordance with applicable standards. They also verify that the dimensions of the welds match the reference drawings.

In some projects, the visual inspection also involves verifying the different dimensions of assemblies in production. The distance between the holes, the position of the parts, the right choice of profiles, the straightness of beams, etc., to provide the customer with a product quality for which he has paid.

Géni-Métal inspectors are also able to verify that welding operations are carried out correctly. Generally, the inspector checks the electrode selection, preheating, welding current, tension, wire speed, feed rate, etc. Proper follow-up of approved welding procedures greatly limits subsequent problems in final welds
